The North West Federation of Art Societies
Aims & Objectives

The object of the Federation is to support the Art Societies of the North West via the expertise, experience and know-how of appointed Representatives and by (when possible) financial support.

To arrange Federation Exhibitions of the work of Affiliated Societies within the North West area: the Counties of Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumbria, parts of Derbyshire and North Wales.

To secure opportunities for Societies to co-operate in arranging demonstrations, visits to exhibitions etc. within their neighbourhoods.

To negotiate Grants from the North West Arts Board, Government and other bodies and to make these funds available, in accordance with approved procedures to Affiliated Societies.

To help raise standards in Affiliated Societies by advising on obtaining demonstrators,lecturers etc.

To provide advice on such matters as society organisation, insurance, publicity etc. when formally requested so to do.

To obtain subscriptions from Affiliated Societies proportional to their membership.

The Council of the Federation is composed of Representatives of Affiliated Societies and hold Ordinary Meetings, usually in Manchester, about five times per year. At Ordinary Meetings Representatives shall have opportunities to contribute to the proceeding, to report on Society activities and to request advice and assistance where appropriate. The Fedration organises an AGM at which Federation activities shall be reported and discussed and Representatives shall elect Officers to serve (normally) for the following twelve months; the Officers being:-

Exhibitions Officer
Secretary
Treasurer
Examiner (Formerly Auditor)
Other Officers may be appointed from time to time but their appointment must be confirmed at the following AGM |
